Howdy doo y'all! Just got home from a lovely weekend of Mid-State in Tennessee. Just wanted to let everyone know that the conductor of the 1st senior high band commissioned a piece for us in memory of a member of MTSBOA (Middle TN State band and orchestra association) who passed away some time ago. Anyway, the conductor/composer's name is Dr. Tim Mahr, and he teaches @ St. Olaf's in Minnesota. So, for all of you that play band music, look for the piece to be published in not too long!! It's a great piece called "Everyday Hero". If you do play it, you can say "Hey I know someone who that song was commissioned for! Well, not really but sorta!!!!"....and for all you minnasotans, if you know dr. mahr, let him know that everyone appreciated what he did for us this weekend, and for the past 5 years!!!!!!!!! He should be so proud, and I'm pretty sure he was! Tonight was the first time this song had been played!! Ok, enough of this rambling! Bye y'all!
