How do you all feel about Accubore and those other tuning barrels? Are they decent and do they actually make tuning easier? Do you have any brands that you like better than others? I've been thinking about ordering one for my horn but haven't decided. Thanks for your input!

While it may seem like alot of smoke and mirrors, these aftermarket barrels really work. I can measure the accuracy of each note with a cheapo tuner and chart the differences.
The problem is that you may need to try several in order to find a good match for your rig. Once that is done, it may not support another mouthpiece.
Theoretically, you could end up with a different barrel for each mouthpiece!
I use the Chadash 64mm with my setup (an old Evette Master Model) that gives me nice, even attack over (most of) the notes.
I sold off a Moening 65mm that didn't work out as well and they're designs are really similar.
I use a Click! tuning barrel when playing with a piano and the room is really cold.
Bottom line, you will need several to try in more than one sitting. It will help to have someone listening along. I like things that are bright, which leaves me sounding a little thin at the back of the room.
There are lots of these listed in the Classifieds @ Sneezy.
