One of my students bought a Buffet with the serial F657xx. No model marks below the Buffet logo. Sounds as good as my BC20. The clarinet was sold as an E13, but how can that be? No E13 mark, and a F before the serial? She sounds just like a pro level Buffet.
A search at Buffet's website brught me two results:
Brand : Buffet Crampon
Instrument : Clarinettes Argentées 1102
Serial number : 65725
Year of manufacturing : 13/06/1985
(argentée = silver plated) and
Brand : Buffet Crampon
Instrument : No. 2 Sib France
Serial number : 65725
Year of manufacturing : 16/12/1960
I'm quite curious. My bet is that this one is a R13. Could it be? Which features should I look for to identify it correctly?

If it is an E13, RC, Festival or any other model beside the R13 it will be marked under the Buffet Crampon logo on the upper joint. The R13 is the only model which is not actually marked beside on the back of the bell and barrel.
It could be a mismarked serial number as the F is used for the European pitched instrument (442). One way to see if it is an instrument which was manufactured in the 1960 would be by looking at the keywork and the composition of the nickel silver.
Is there anyway you can send me some photos of the horn? close ups of the logos, serial number and the horn in general. I will forward them to my colleagues at the factory and see what we can find out.

I have a full-boehm Buffet with no "model" markings, serial number F700xx. I received this information from Buffet:
"The clarinet stamped with the serial number #70093 has been manufactured in 1962. It is a BN model, which can be compared to a RC."
Does that help you or further confuse you? I'm not entirely sure what the BN model means, actually.

@ F.Kloc - The F prefix makes sense: we are based in EU. Should I ask directly at the french factory? Otherwise, I'd have a question for you: in the description BC 1132, I know that BC stands for Buffet Crampon, 11 for Bb, but 32?
@Michelle: ma belle, thanks for the information! ;-) Maybe this one's also a BN. I just wanna make sure. I believe that the most important thing is that the BN clarinet is a helluva instrument, like any pro level Buffet.
