What is this Clarinet? B12, E11, R13? Says "made in W. Germany" however Buffet website says this:
Brand : Buffet Crampon
Instrument : BC 1131
Serial number : 253xxx
Year of manufacturing : 02/10/1984

As far as I know any Buffet clarinet that says "Made in Germany" was actually made by Schreiber. Until recently they made the E11 model and were making the B12 model for a while too. Chances are the serial number won't appear properly on the Buffet list.

If it's plastic, it's a B12 made by Schreiber
If it's wood (German) it's an E11
If it'swood and says "France" it's an R13, which would be te reference you listed from the Buffet Site. Generally, they only list their pro-level serial numbers on the site.
1131 is the designation for an R13. That matches the date/serialnumber combo from the site.

Yes, hence the confusion: Wood, serial number from Buffet website as listed above. Says W. Germany.

Yeah I believe if it's made in Germany, and that's what it tells you, it's most likely an E11.
