i have been the proud owner of an Opus for about six months. It is really a great horn, but I never fell in love with it.
Now I'm going to trade it for a like new Prestige R13.
Does this sound like a great deal or not?

Hi Bob, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. From what I have read both Clarinets are similar in design anyway. Both have a small "polycylindrical" bore. I personally like the feel of Buffets, having an RC prestige myself. This insidentally has a slightly larger bore. With the high level of construction in the Opus, R13, RC, Selmer etc... the differences are fairly marginal. The player is the main factor. However choice of Clarinets is like choice of romantic partners. If it doesn't feel right try for a while but then amicably divorce. This can be difficult if you have little ones you love such as tiny Eb clarinets, but a man must do what a man must do. Some cultures recomend multiple partners. I have a few instruments myself, but I am always discrete, i keep coming back to my gooe old RC. Regards Chris.

Hi Bob,
I do respect Leblanc instruments, but I think they lack of personality. I prefer a well selected Buffet to A leblanc, but I prefer a bad selected leblanc to a bad selected buffet.
Anyway... I think you have made the right choice..... Take good time on slecting buffet..... Most of the instruments suck.... but you sometimes fall on the ultimate one..
Best wishes
Daniel
