Okay I know the Woodwind Co. NY is famous for many things like mouthpieces, but I've come across an old Boehm 17/6 wood clarinet with the WW Co. on each piece.
I've worked on some Malernes and some other probably Malerne stencils, and this doesn't look like a Malerne to me.
Has anyone else seen a WW Co. clarinet? Did they have various people make there clarinets like some other companies do? This one seems quite nice, I will be repadding it soon so I'll know if my hunch is right........

I've seen one Woodwind clarinet before. It had inline trill keys rather than the offset ones found on Prueffer and P-M clarinets. There is one listed on the auction site now as well. The keywork looks very similar to that on my Normandy clarinet. Perhaps it could have been stenciled by Normandy before they were bought out by Leblanc?

Normandy......huh!
Well the only Normandy I've got around is a model 10. It looks kinda similar but the bridge key isn't the same design, although this could have changed on various models.
I've never heard of a Normandy stencil . Interesting!

It's only a theory, but Normandy and Leblanc are the only makers I've encountered that use inline trill keys. If it didn't say made in France I would probably suggest that it might be a rebadged Vito.

If it's the one that I just looked at it is a WoodWind, as Woodwind and brasswind out of southbend indiana. I have some mailing from the Woodwind Co and the brasswind co which were separate (at least separate mailings and names) from probably 1982. The emblem on this on is "The Woodwind" and "Southbend, IN" in a smaller font.
it kinda does look like a Normandy, for the most part, with some oddities though.
