Hello, first poster here.
I desperately need help in the rondo section of the Mozart Clarinet Concerto where the piece goes
a-c g-c f-c e-c c-c g-c (continues twice) in sixteenth notes
each group of six is grouped into 3 slurs.
I can never seem to successfully play through all of it without stumbling.
any practice tips or tricks will be greatly appreciated.
my audition is on saturday.
Thanks,
~Ryan

Ryan, your picture flipped the image.
Look at your part - most likely it has 8va down underneath the part. You can take it down an octave to make it a lot more readily playable.
For the low C I suggest that my students use an F so that the scalular passage stays just that.
If playing it as printed, you can keep your bottom 3 fingers down for the A, and G - just make sure to lift it for the F, E, and C.
You in PA or NJ?

Ryan,
Contrary to David's suggestion I would use an E ( Thumb, one and two) in place of the basset C. This makes much more sense harmonically than playing F. Alternatively playing it on a basset would make it much easier ;-)

I think it's easier to tongue every other note instead of grouped in three. That way you tongue the lower note each time giving you some stability. Also, it is true that some players play it an octave lower so it's in the original register except you have to change the low C as suggested above. I always preferred playing the correct notes in the wrong register than the wrong notes, note, in the correct register. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com
