Has anyone had the opportunity to play in the pit for this show? If so, could anyone describe the Reed parts? I have the instrumentation, but in regard to the difficulty of the non-clarinet parts and which clarinet part is the "best" (solos, most fun to play, etc.)? Thanks.

I played this show in April . I was one of two woodwinds. I played
Woodwind 3 - clarinet , soprano and alto sax, the other book was all flute/picc. There were some nice moments on the alto sax, esp. during one of the ballads (Coffee Shop Nights)and also some fun clarinet parts(She did It). If you don't have a soprano sax, you can simply play it on the clarinet, since its in the same key, (though you would lose a bit of the intended flavor.) I found it useful to listen to and play along to the CD. In the end it was a very playable and fun show.
BTW, with this publishing company, you get to keep the book, which is well written, has vocal cues included and is in a spiral binder.

I played Curtains a little over a year ago. I remember some challenging alto sax licks. I found it an enjoyable show, though it took me awhile to get used to the idea of a murder mystery that was also a comedy.
