does anyone know who the principal clarinet was in the prom concert of the 5th symphony by Shostakovitch recently broadcast from the proms in London. What horn was he using?

The orchestra was the BBC Symphony so the principal clarinet would be Richard Hosford - Richard plays on Peter Eaton Elite (wide bore - 1010 size) clarinets

Hi, I went to the Shostakovitch 5 Prom and according to the programme, which is usually fairly accurate, the 1st clarinet was Andrew Webster who was in as guest principal. Hope this helps.

He's using Eaton clarinets, which you can spot by the characteristic shape of the tuning barrel. Not clear whether they are large-bore elites or the smaller international model. Webster is listed on www.eatonclarinets.org.uk, but
that doesn't say which model. Sounded good, either way.
