 replacement leather connector for BG straps?

I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find replacement leather connectors for the BG neck straps. Anyone know if (and where) they're sold separately? It seems a waste to have to buy a new neck strap for the sake of a little strip of leather...

An Exacto knife and an old shoe upper, plus perhaps a small punch to make a round hole to prevent tearing.
