 Duet

I'm looking for a pretty advanced saxophone and clarinet duet. Something along the lines of (but no harder) than the Krommer Op.35...or was it 36... The first double concerto anyways.

Any ideas? It doesn't have to be famous... If you wrote it ill play it since they are scarce...

Gregory Wanamaker wrote a great Duo Sonata for Alto Sax and Clarinet. There's also Roshanne Etezady's Glint, and I'm sure numerous transcriptions. Both of these are pretty difficult, but maybe some of the inner movements of the Wanamker would be fun. Timothy McAllister has recorded some of these on his new cd "Glint" with Robert Spring.

Could you tell me where I may find or purchase these pieces? I did a search, the music came up, but not where to get the sheet music.

Both can be bought from the composer. I think...http://www.gregorywanamaker.com/ and http://www.roshanne.com

The Etezady piece is very very difficult- large amounts of altissimo passages and technique for both instruments. A recording of the Wanamaker can be listened to here: http://www.viglucci.com/professional/recordings.html

If these aren't what you're looking for, I know there are other, less known options, or many transcriptions by various arrangers of other pieces.

You might also try checking www.eble.com, ww.dornpub.com, and the Sax on the Web forums.

Vaclav Nelhybel Counterpoint No.1 for Bb clarinet and Alto Saxophone - J. Christopher Music Co.

Moderate difficulty. Five short mvts, maybe 15 minutes in length.

The hardest thing is getting it together because of the tightly wound ryhthms as the title suggests (and Nelhybel has want to do many times).

Definitly getting Wanamaker's Duo Sonata. Brilliant piece. If you know any others tell me everything. I'm planning on ordering quite a few to try with someone.

Paul where can I order this piece? This is ridiculous. Why can't I find any of these pieces to buy with a simple google search.

Also do you have any recording of it? I found a search that says it is a grade 2 level music and that gives me the notion that it might be a very simple piece.
