 Tonguing Problems
Author: renjer

Hi I was trying tonguing today and I hear my tongue striking the reed and causing a muffled sound. Also when I remove the clarinet from my mouth the reed gets all wet. How can I tongue better?

Well, articulation is the REMOVAL of your tongue FROM the reed. Placing the tongue upon the reed stops the sound.

THERE IS NO STRIKING !!!!!!

That should speed things up a bit for you.

I suggest you take a look at my website and read the articles about tonguing in the Clarinet Articles Page. They've all appeared in the clarinet journal in some form at one time or other. You might get some ideas that will help you. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com
