HELP!
actually i think that it says portamento, but its the same thing to me right now. It's from a middle B to a 3-ledger like E. I can do it starting from the 4th line D, but my problem is I find it EXTREMELY HARD to do with the B key.... any suggestions on how to smear with those keys down there..?

Lift them slowly in chromatic sequence--B, C, C#, D, etc--with as loose an embouchure as possible. It's tricky, and not always "perfect", but with some practice, it works. Once you get to D5, continue to finger an upward scale with the loose embouchure playing "below" what you are fingering all the way up as far as you want to go. On a good day, I can gliss to C7. The higher you get, the easier it becomes :>)
When you have mastered this register, start experimenting with the low notes starting on G3. Finger a chromatic scale moving each finger very slowly off each ring with as loose an embouchure as possible to cause each tone to slide one to the next until you reach Bb4. Then learn a jazz move to get smoothly across the "break" to B4 and you will be able to do the famous--or infamous--"Rhapsody in Blue" opener. Cheers!!!!
