Since there seems to be a lot of newer posters on the bb, I thought I'd try this question again. For those who have seen this inquiry before . . .my apologies . . . but I would really like to gain an understanding of this instrument.
I have a 1974 Buffet Bb clarinet with the model designation "Super Dynaction" beneath the Buffet logo on the upper joint. The S/N is F144XXX, so I know it's pitched at 442-444. The Super Dynaction name had long been associated with Buffet's top line of saxes, and Francois Kloc confirmed that the instrument was a very rare limited edition jazz horn. B&H has provided no other information. The register key is raised in comparison to an R-13 (similar to the S-1 I believe - the S-1 being from the same era). The tone holes are not undercut the same way as an R-13 either.
If anyone knows another owner, I would really appreciate hearing from you and your passing this request along to them. I have never seen the instrument in literature, and am now wondering just what Francois meant when he said "very rare limited edition". Like . . . there are bound to be others . . . right? It doesn't sound like an R-13, but I'm not knowledgable enough to compare it to horns that I know by reputation but not by sound (big bore Conns, Centered Tones, Series 9's, LeBlanc Pete Fountains, etc.) I also don't have a jazz background, so I'm not much help there either.
If anyone can shed any light, I'd really appreciate the help.

It's hard to believe this is happening. Maybe it was a prototype rather than a production model. I'm inclined to believe that if this audience doesn't know, ain't noboby knows.
