 book of clarinet marches
Author: Rob Vitale

Dear all,
surprisingly enough I couldn't find much help with the search option.

I'm looking for a good compilation book of first clarinet parts to standard (and maybe not so standard) Marches. I've seen these for brass instruments but not much luck with clarinet. I have seen some books that have watered down clarinet parts. I'm looking for a book that has the true parts in it.

Recommendations on books, and where to purchase would be wonderful.

Thanks

Hello;

The old Pass In Review series had multiple marches and there are others by Carl Fischer Publishing. These were the size that would fit in a "flip folder" and may be available on Ebay or through J W Pepper publishing.

good luck!!!

Subject to availability I suggest you just obtain the solo/first part books for:

Sousa's Favorites
Famous Fillmore Marches
Pass In Review

Those are the basic load.

Paul,

What's the name of the King march book that we use a lot? That's a good one too.

Almost any of the Karl King march books are available in print from Barnhouse these days. "The Hippodrome March Book" has many of his most challenging marches.

Gee, ya know, I haven't used a King Book in the Army once!!! There are some great ones, but also some stinkers. King was a little inconsistant.

You might also want to check out Smart Music. They have lots of concert band music with on screen sheet music for each part. I see now that they have for example lot of Sousa marches.

I recall a compilation of band music called "The Bandsman's Studio," but it's not exclusively marches.
