Just learned that he suffered a heart attack while leading the Rotterdam Philharmonic Sunday night. I'm sure many BBoard members join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.

I heard him conduct a fabulous Symphonie Fantastique with the St. Louis Symphony many years ago in Carnegie Hall and went back religiously for everything he did. What a musician! What an orchestra builder!

I hope this is minor and he goes on making great music.

Oh man, I hope he's going to be ok. I saw him conduct "The Planets Suite" by the L.A. Phil one time. Oooy.

The best to Leonard. I hope he makes a speedy and full recovery. I played several concerts with Leonard as an extra/sub player with the SLSO. He was a great technical conductor. Always easy to follow, very expressive, and was the absolute best at managing rehearsal time and getting the most done at a rehearsal.

I'm sorry to hear of Lenny's health issues. I'm sure he will pull through just fine.

Lenny & I were "room-mates" while at Juilliard in the early 1960s. He played Viola in the school orchestra and studied conducting with the famed Jean Morel.

Lenny was, and is, a very hard working, totally dedicated conductor and educator. I have known him for over 40 years and can only wish him a speedy and complete recovery. I occasionally work with his very talented brother, Freddie (now Fredrick Zlotkin) who is the Principal Cellist of the NYC Ballet.

If I hear any health info from either Freddie or Lenny, I'll let the great BBoard know the news.

Until then, I pray for Lenny's return to the podium where he belongs.
