I sounds like there's a leak in the upper joint or you're not covering all your fingers when you play the B. Check the upper joint for a leak by closing all the open notes in the upper joint and cover the bottom end of the joint with the palm of your hand and blow air through the upper end. That way you will see if air comes out on any of the pads. If it's not the upper joint and you're covering all the holes well there must be a problem with the lower joint, maybe with the pads that cover the B or your pulling a finger off of one of the opened holes, probably the third finger in the right hand. I had problems with my A constantly squeaking, turned out a number of the pads and keys were fitting poorly, and after having it adjusted by a good tech, it's now playing pretty well.

I had the exact same problem when I bought my SML. I couldn't play the B in the second register and a few of the notes above that. It turns out the biggest pads on the second joint were fitted very poorly. I had them all replaced, and now the instrument plays exceptionally well. I've mentioned my problem in a previous post.
