Hey guys,
In the summer when the weather was hot, my clarinet had an AMAZING sound when using grand concert evolution 3.5s. Now in the winter i still get a great sound but only in the staff b up to a A, just above the staff before the sound gets ridiculously thing. Due to this, i can not use them and use vandoren 4s, but the sound just isnt as pure or good sounding. What reed can have the same heart as the evolution but a thicker tip for higher notes??

Try the Rico Reserve, both the regular and the new Classic. I've been very impressed wit them. The new classic are best commercial reed I've ever played. I actually got 10 out of 10 from the number 4s with only slight adjustments on some. This has never, ever happened to me before, 10 out of 10. Try them and check my website for hints on adjusting reeds. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com
PS. I am an uncompensated Rico performing artist.

I liked the Evo for a while, but now I keep coming back to Xilema Professional. Strength 'C' or 'C+' will be near to Evo 3.5.
