I was at my clarinet technician's in NYC when a prominent orchestral player came in to pick up his pair of clarinets. In addition to the great tone he produced on his wooden mouthpiece, I couldn't help admiring the sleekness of his case. When he saw me eyeing it he said that while his clarinets are Buffet, the case was Yamaha. He said: "while I was in Paris, I asked them for the sleekest case possible." Does anyone know where I can get such a case for Bb and also for A and Bb clarinets?

Yes. Depending on the case its likely that you'll find it at WW&BW, IMS or Weiner, which are (all) mail-order firms. IMS has special-ordered Yamaha clarinet items for me in the past, quickly & without any additional charge. Good luck. mw
ps have you seen the wiseman or fel-orly cases ? pps the sleekest cases I have seen has to be the selmer signature single or double.

I have to send a case cover back because it is to small for my LaBlanc. The cover is made by protec, so be careful if you have a non stander case. I really like the idea of a case cover.

IMHO, we probably shouldn't include Protec in the "sleek category". Its economical.

Here are some other "sleek entries": The case to the Buffet Elite. Also, the Peter Eaton case which is made by Fel-Orly should definitely be an entrant in this "contest". mw
