 Cracked clarinet from wwbw

I recently sent back a Selmer Signature Bb (blimished item) to WWBW that had 2 cracks on the upper joint. I only had the clarinet for about 4 days when I noticed the cracks. I don't know if it arrived cracked or if it cracked after I got it but I suspect it was cracked before I got it. Anyway I sent it back and it should arrive to them today. This was well within the 45 day return period but their web site basicaly states that all items must be returned in the same condition as they were sold. I want to order another Signature but this time a brand new one. My concern is will they interpret the cracks as not being in the same condition as sold and refuse to refund me? I told them about the cracks when I called for the RA# and stated it on the return paper work but I can't prove that it arrived cracked. I want to order another clarinet but I'm kind of afraid to until they credit me for the cracked one which could take weeks.

You are fine. Even if it cracked while you had it that shouldn't and most likely won't matter at all. Ya just got it and it's cracked - end of story.

Let us know how it works out. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

Dear Selmer Player,

I don't want to get us in trouble with GBK et al, but I may be interested in your rejects. I did not see a back channel e-mail but if you would, please contact me off line about the EXACT condition of the clarinet from WWBW and if it indeed item #463107.

I already sent it back for credit and ordered a new Selmer Signature. I checked and it was not the item number you provided.

And, to be VERY clear - you can express interest in private emails, and if one is not provided, you can ask on the BBoard for an email, but you CANNOT offer to buy or sell (or try and use some phrase other than buy or sell - GBK and I actually read every post) on the BBoard.

Well let me clarify. I have contacted WWBW about their "best price" on a new Signature to be told that there are two best prices. The lower price ($600 lower....significant) was for a new instrument with "visible surface marring."

To me, even a surface check (a considerable risk of developing into a real crack to be sure) could be an acceptable risk. As long as the clarinet seals perfectly (wood wise), having no wood defects that go through to the bore, I would entertain this savings. Of course Weiner has already beaten this best price...........too bad for WWBW.

PS does this need another apology?

I'm glad you got a good price on the Signature. The Signature I just bought and will arrive monday, I got for $4225. This time I did not buy a blimish item because I have already sent back 2 that were unacceptable even for blimished. They matched Prowinds price and the good thing about WWBW is that 45 day return period.

Being a High School student, I found that preparing an audition peace for a Youth Ensemble tryout this year really helped improve my musicality, and, due to my competitive nature, I guess, it provided really good motivation to practice a lot. I don't know if this is what you're asking about, but I would encourage your students to audition or do something competitive.
