Can anyone tell me where I can get a quality bass clarinet stand? I have a Selmer with the low C extension. I'm wary of buying something plastic only because I want the stand to be sturdy, but I'd like the stand to be portable as well. Quite the dilemma, I realize. Any suggestions on what or where to get one would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Koenig & Meyer bassoon/bass clarinet stand is sturdy and works well with a low-C instrument. It also folds up fairly compactly. It is available from Woodwind and Brasswind (http://www.wwandbw.com) and International Music Suppliers (http://www.intlmusicalsuppliers.com), among others.

I ordered a stand from Graham, whose name appears on this bulletin board frequently. I haven't got it yet, but if you check with me an a few weeks I'll let you know what I think. It sounds as if it may be pretty sturdy. It is made in Czechoslovakia.

I have one of the K&M stands and it's fantastic. It's also pricey. Even so, I love it and it's built to last. YOu can get a look at it by surfing to K&M's US distributor.
