College conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University of Cincinnati is well established, and has produced some quality players.
An up and comer- Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ.
Look up Dennis DiBlasio through www.rowan.edu. These guys stress composition skills, and making a living with music.
Good luck!

I would have to side with Nate Zeien. I would definately have to agree with the University of Northern Iowa. Granted that you might never have heard of it depending on your location, but they're ranked as the best consistently by Downbeat magazine for jazz.
