I just bought a box of "Opera" reeds made by Bois-Chaux in France for the first time. Ten out of ten played perfectly straight out of the box. Perfectly consistent. They are distributed by an outfit called Laputa.Co. Ltd. (sorry Latinos). They cost the same as Van Dorens, but claim to be sun-dried and hand-selected. Maybe I hit a lucky batch, or perhaps these people are trying harder.
