My glass mouthpiece slipped out of my clarinet's barrel and broke. I'm wondering if I could take it to thee shop and get it fixed. What should I do?
It's my best mouthpiece and it's vintage.

OUCH! You have all our sympathies - I know how you feel, though mine was a Vandoren B46 which I liked, though it was new so a replacement wasn't too much of an issue. But a vintage crystal is a different matter altogether.
How badly damaged is it?
I'm always nervous of concrete floors whenever I've got my crystal mouthpieces with me - I've smashed an ebonite mouthpiece on a concrete floor when shaking the condensation out of it when it came adrift from the barrel, though I found all the broken bits and superglued it back together fairly successfully.
I don't know what can be done with crystal mouthpieces - maybe the same kind of resin used to inject windscreen chips could be used to repair the broken sections if it's not too badly damaged 9though any damage is bad enough).

Haha! I was thinking, "WHERE ARE THE PICTURES!?!"
You could always try different mouthpieces. It is very possible you could find something better than your vintage crystal mouthpiece.

Hey, these are glass mouthpieces. They're difficult to see.
Remember "The Little Prince"? Now it'd be the season to read that story again...

It's not that hard to attach pictures:
Make sure they're gif, jpg, bmp, pdf, doc, jpeg or png files
Make sure they're not > 2Mb
Type in your post, but click "add attachments" instead of "Post"
Add up to 5 pictures by browsing to the picture of your chioce and adding it.

What exact model was it? I can keep my eye out for one. One thing to keep in mind; the same make and model won't necessarily play exactly the same, but they should be similar.
My suggestions for people who might be able to find you a vintage replacement are Chet Rowell and Bob Ackerman.
I doubt it is reparable, and if it was repaired, it wouldn't play the same.
