Hello,
I seem to recall a post around the time of Giuffre's death dealing with a quote by a professor upon learning about Giuffre being hired to teach clarinet stating something like "okay, so who will teach the upper register". Can anyone point me to this post or retell the story, with all of the particulars? I'm performing a concert in January and one of the promoters asked me to play some Giuffre, so I'd like to relay this story. I've used the search function, but can't find it. Thanks!

When I heard that story the "professor" was Benny Goodman.

Hello Hank,
No, that's not the post. It definitely mentioned Giuffre being hired at a university and the "professor" stating what I said. I'd really like to know what that quote was. Was it erased from here?
