I have a Buffet clarinet that I am trying to identify. I tried the Buffet site using the serial number but had no luck. Maybe someone here can help me? This is the info I have...I got the clarinet when I was in junior high (1984) from my aunt who played it when she was in high school (1968 ish). Now my stepdaughter wants to use it for junior high band. I can not see a model number on it anywhere. The serial # is K26255 and is stamped "Made in France" right above the serial #. The oval logo has "Evette & Schaeffer" along the top, "Paris France" in the middle, and "Modele Buffet Crampon" along the bottom of the oval. Any help is appreciated!

Here's a list of serial numbers and putative dates, from a Google site, but it's all pretty much guesswork when it comes to older Evette & Schaeffer models.
I have one, probably from the mid-1950's, but it could be older. Its serial number is B3703.
So far, no one I've spoken to, teachers or techs, can pin down the date.
Yours appears to date from the mid 1960's, around the time your aunt played it.

This is probably a model that became the E13 (though many consider the K series Evette and Schaeffer E13 to be much better than the current E13 and very claose to the R13)
The Buffet website number search suggests 1971 as year of manufacture and correctly identifies it as a 440 Evette. You need to put just the numbers in the search box, without the K.

It's an E13, they just didn't stamp the model names on them in those days. 1968-69 is about right.
