I was wondering if anyone had the dimensions or even pictures of the case for the Yamaha 650 clarinet? Thanks

Not much help, but I'm guessing it's closer to being a gig bag type of case by the fact that it's covered with Cordura and it has strap rings.

Looking at the other posts, I think my guess is a little off... [rotate]

Okay, thanks. Is it a good case? Does it protect well? Or is it prone to breaking?

It's a very small case. You'll need a case cover or some other bag to carry things like a second mouthpiece, a box of reeds and a tuner.

Oh, well in that case it's just like the Allegro case. A case cover is available in leather (or maybe pleather, I never scratched it deep enough) for the Allegro case with a pocket on the outside big enough for carrying a few boxes of reeds and a mouthpiece or a screwdriver set and a tuner. I've stood, thrown, and jumped on my case before. It's very sturdy. It fits the clarinet perfectly, so if something's bent, you'll know. The only problem that I have with it is that after about three years of using it several times a day, every day, one latch became fractionally loose. I use my case cover for extra insurance.

The case is 13 inches long, 6.5 wide, and 2.5 thick on one end and flares to 3.5 on the other for the bell. It weighs about 3.5 lb. with my clarinet, 3 mouthpieces (2 plastic, one metal), a Rovner, and 5 reeds. Oh, and an anti-tarnish strip [tongue]. It weighs 4 lb. with the case cover. It's so much lighter and smaller than most cases, I wouldn't trade it for any other kind.
