Hello,
I just got my copy of Berio Sequenza (which by the way UNiversal publishes in ten 8x11 sheets instead of the oversize edition) and I am a bit puzzled by the multiphonics fingerings. Where it says simply F# versus low F# I am confused. Can anyone who knows the piece well or owns a copy help me sort this out? I believe there are four distinct ones. Thanks! This will be quicker than deciphering it out from the recording, playing it, messing around, listening again......etc.

Hi
You really need a full boehm instrument to realise the multiphonics. If you don't have one of those then try adding a little extension in the bell to lengthen the tube otherwise I just use the fingerings for the C and D notes that Berio has to change their colour. You get some interesting harmonics from these.
