Several years ago a friend of mine said his clarinet teacher at Kent State had, at one time, played professional basketball while also playing clarinet in a professional orchestra (in Washington D.C.) Do I have the facts correct, or is there some embellishment to the story?

That would be the National Symphony Orchestra and the Washington Bullets, I don't think so. ESP www.peabody.jhu.edu/457 (Listen to a little Mozart, Live performance, while dribbling a basketball)
