I've spent some time searching around here about basset A extensions, but I thought I'd put the question out to everyone: Those of you who have purchased and/or used a basset A extension for the Mozart concerto, which ones did you use and what were your thoughts? The extensions from Steve Fox and Guy Chadash seem the most appealing, but I'd like to hear about any that you've used.
Edit: When I say basset extentions, I'm refering to all options including modifying an existing lower joint and a completely separate lower joint.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi there,
Howarth of London also make an lower joint for either A Clarinet or Bb clarinet to fit any existing top joint clarinet.
Keywork can be adapted according to the player, or just the 'standard'/traditional' setup.
You can email for more information:

I have a Fox extension. The workmanship is superb. The keywork is well thought out and very sturdy. He gives personal attention if you have any special requests and it was delivered on time when he said it would be. The only negative for me is that the Db key is not a key but a plastic sphere that takes some getting used to.
