Hello,
I have part of an old copy of the Brahms sonatas arranged for 2 clarinets by Langenus. I wanted to get the rest of the parts, but am having trouble finding them. It's possible that it's out of print. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a copy of one or both sonatas? They sound really pretty as duets. Thanks.

How much of it do you have? I'd be quite interested in this for an education concert of clarinet duo music i'm doing later in the year...

I have a copy of Weber's Grand Duo Concertant arranged for 2 Bb clarinets by Gustave Langenus. It is not very effective, with the 2nd clarinet being a poor substitute for Weber's piano.
Still, it is very interesting, and gives some useful performance tips in that there are subtle changes of tempo specified throughout --particularly in the 2nd movement.
I believe that Langenus' body of work was recently donated to the Yale University Library. You might drop David Shifrin a line at Yale to see if the material has been cataloged and made available to the public.

Someone posted a PDF of the 1st sonata duet in the "Clarinet Jobs" Group of Facebook.com.
I make no representation what if any copyright issues are involved.

Ken,
thanks for the lead to the "Brahms 2". It's actually the No. 1 (minor key). I printed and read the 2nd part. It actually looks worthwhile!
Does anyone have an accessible copy of the (real) No. 2?
