I've started playing my clarinet again after several years. I was looking on the net for ways to improve my sound. I figured out that I am playing a Vandoren B44 mouthpiece on a Bb clari. It looks like the B44 is intended only for alto or Eb clari...does anyone have insight to this?

They made B44's for Bb at one point.
Eb and Alto mouthpieces won't fit into a Bb barrel.
If its marked B44, and it fits, and is the correct size for a Bb reed, then its a Bb B44.

There are so many good mouthpieces on the market today and Vandoren makes many that are very affordable. Once you get your playing back a bit try some others and find one that "fits" you best.
