Hello, anyone attending?
I noticed the registration fee is $100 - 150 depending on membership status (regular, student). Does does this fee actually include? Does it include day pass for all 4 days of the exhibit? If not, how much are the daypasses? Anyone knows?
I have emailed and left messages with ICA, haven't heard back.

It includes everything (classes, exhibitions, demonstrations, evening performances, et al.)
NB: You must be an I.C.A. member to register. If you are not an I.C.A. member it'll be an additional $25-$50

I'm all set to go, just waiting for july 3rd
As of yet unannounced, there will be a presentation on Palatal air leaks relative to clarinet playing. It will be given by 2 ENT Doctors who also play clarinet. There will be dialogue, presentations and videos

The 2008 date in Kansas City, Missouri is within my driving distance.
I may try to make that one just to see what a 'clarinet fest' is all about.
If products are available to demo, I know it will be interesting.

I will be going and there will likely be a gaggle of DePaul clarinets with me. Travel is so expensive though!
Being inexperienced in matters of cross-country/international travel, does anyone know of an inexpensive method of traveling between Chicago and Vancouver?

You could fly to Seattle and either drive up to Vancouver or take the train. It's only about a 2 hour drive and about the same amount of time for the train. Usually the air fare comes out cheaper if you don't arrive at an international destination. And don't forget about the discount airlines such as Jet Blue and others, you may find a deal.

From Seattle you can get a seaplane landing right in downtown Vancouver, with none of the usual airport hassles.
I'll be there (my hometown is just across the water from Vancouver), but probably only on a one day pass. Who's in for the mega-clarinet choir??

I have noticed the registration form asks if you wish to play in a clarinet choir, and if so which type of clarinet. This brings to mind the embarassing fact that while I love playing bass and contra alto, I read only treble clef. What options are likely to be available for the low clarinets?

I want to ask one question. It says that Clarinet Fest is held 2 years in America and 1 year outside America. I saw that Clarinet Fest was held 2005 in Tokyo. Does anyone since I didn't see any information about it at clarinet.org know where the Festival will be held in 2009? It's very expensive for me to travel from Iceland(Scandinavian country) to America. Cheapest ticket for 5 hour flight to America is almost 3 times more expensive than 3 hour flight to Europe.

I have a friend who travels Minneapolis to Seattle by freight train from time to time. It is the cheapest way I know to make the majority of the trip, being absolutely free. (Don't get caught).

I would only go to Portugal during their winter. Only then would it be a decent temperature for me to be in, certainly not in the summer!!
They like it really warm. Even with whatever air-conditioning they may have, it's most likely going to be in the 80's inside.
