I picked up a wonderful Leblanc LL off of ebay and only played it a few minutes before a pad fell out and I had to run to the repair shop. But in those few minutes the horn seemed even at room temp to be flat. Should I just buy a Leblanc 63 MM barrel.? Thanks , can't wait to play this horn. K

Get it back from the shop, then spend some time making sure the instrument is properly warmed up. At least 5-10 minutes of playing should bea good start. THEN check it with a tuner to see if it is evenly out of tune. Ifso, by how much? If it isn't an overall issue, which notes are the worst?
If it is a uniform flatness, I would suggest having a custom barrel, such as the ones from Dr. Alan Segal (Clarinetconcepts.com) or Morrie Backun (Backunmusical.com). Check the links on the right side of this page, and look for "Mouthpieces & Barrels."
