Does anyone else occasionally get the their bottom lip stuck to the reed? I just played a wonderful version of the Mozart K622 movements 1 and 2 to the potted plants in my brothers bedroom. Added a few errrr embellishments, mainly in the difficult passages.....But then when I got to the end my lip was stuck to the reed. ouch. Am I the only one this happens to?! I probably ought to go and eat some ice creams and have a lie down to get over the trauma. Not sure I'll be fit to go to work tomorrow...

D,
It doesn't happen to me. Was it a new reed? Did you burnish it before you played it? Had you eaten anything sugary?

Broken in reed, hadn't eaten for several hours before and I'd drunk lots of water in the interim. Normally I would have cleaned my teeth as well, so maybe that is what made the difference. Was jolly uncomfortable!

no cosmetics either. Maybe it was an allergic reaction to the Mozart!
