As all of the reeds in a V12 box sounds terrible, I stored it in a dry place for nearly 8 months.
I dipped them in Gum Dental rinse for sanitization and dried them for 2 weeks, then washed them by flowing lukewarm water, and re-profiled it with Greg Smith's reed profiler to make them have exact Morre profile.
Two days ago, I bottom sanded one and found it sound marvelous just like good old days vandoren's tones:complex and includes various harmonics. It was a present shock. Greg Smith's profiler made it sound easier.
Aging seems to work. It might be all the more necessary for present new reeds. I wonder:Present dry-up period may not be long as in good old days? or Did aging also climatize them?
