 Weber Concertino..
Author: Michael

I have been playing the Weber Concertino for about 2 months now...
And I still can't play the 2nd solo part well(the one where you need to tongue for 2 notes and slur 2 notes part)
I have heard a few different versions of Weber Concertino before..some players tend to slur all the notes...while some of them tongue only a few notes....Is it acceptable if I don't tongue that part?(It's giving me a hard time!!!)

Technically it is acceptable, however, that's the easy way out... this is a perfect oppurtunity for you to learn something new and implement some slow organaized practice in order to get the line clean and fluid. Avoiding it now only delays the inevitable and I say jump right on in and get messy so later on you won't have to go back and do it! If you need some specific ideas on HOW to practice this passage you should definitely ask here or a clarinetist you trust... i know a few "tricks" on getting articulation clean and fluid but they all require slow practice to build it up. Ciao
