 Thomas Ayres

Can anyone give me some information about Thomas Ayres(clarinettist), who died in 1990? He was a member of the faculty of Iowa University, as far as I know. I have some of his works for basset-horn, and would like to know more about him. Does anyone have the exact date of his death?

Thomas A. Ayres was born Jan. 30, 1917 and died in Iowa Feb. 22, 1990.
