Hello...
I was wondering what the best way to prepare a wooden clarinet for longterm
storage without damage would be? I'm thinking upwards of a couple of years.
Thank you,

By far the best place would be my apartment.
I'd put it into the bedroom closet, cleaned and oiled, in its case, with a tea bag to prevent stuffy odours. Here, the bedrooms are usually unheated, and the clothes offer ample buffering re moisture and temperature, yet the closet is used often enough to prevent mildew and stuffiness. Check the case in regular intervals. (That's what we do with our mothballed photo equipment, and we didn't experience fungused lenses and all that, so...)
If you can't attend to your instrument because you're doing that world trip, consider entrusting your repair tech with it. Else check the temp/humidity conditions in the safe room of your local bank.
