I'm looking for anyone who has info on the use of the new Profile 88 shape mouthpieces from Vandoren.
They look very comfortable, but I'm a little worried that the narrow slope of the mp is going to force me to close my mouth more and thus restrict airflow.
Anybody have an opinion on the use of these mouthpieces?

I have a 5JB Profile 88. A very comfortable mpc. No problems at all.

I used the M13 mp and wasn't terribly fond of it. It was too closed for me. Some people may give you different opinions, though.
I'd suggest that you try the different styles and pick the one you like the most. I can't tell you how the profile 88's are from playing on one opening.
Good luck!

I have a B45 profile 88 and I use 2 1/2 or 3 reeds. It works very well. no problems with airflow and I can play from ppp to fff in all registers. But mpc are a very personal choice, try and try, and then you will find the mpc for you. good luck.

I have a V45, profile 88, no airflow problems. I was under the impression that this mouth piece style is for people with small mouths (like me, although my foot still fits in nicely.)
