Bob

I, too, received that flyer.
I checked the web site and the music offered is IMHO, a little off the beaten path......so to speak.

For the more traditional offerings, there is volumes of music offered by Dorn Publications

I agree that the site has some far--out--and--away stuff.

I'm thinking about trying out the two for soprano(voice) and clarinet.

I've played the Allan Blank "Emily Dickinson Songs". They're a challenge, but worth the effort.

"Lauro for Clarinet" transcribed by Paquito D'Rivera is great. The keys are a challenge (apparently the oringinal guitar keys, lots of sharps) but for the faint of heart, there is an "A clarinet" (!!) part - a more reasonable set of key signatures! If you teach any jazz doublers, these are especially useful.

Another winner in this catalog is the "Melodic Tour for Two Clarinets" by Allan Blank. Allan is a long time friend (in the interest of full disclosure), so I've had these for a while, and I use them in teaching. Allan wrote them to demonstrate to his composition students one way to begin the composition process. He had them start with a folk song they knew, write it for their own instrument, and then compose a new, more modern accompaniment for the folk song. There is a big variety of music in these duos - worth having in your collection.

They have some great stuff. There are some wonderful and interesting pieces for solo winds and great arrangements for wind quintet, including some of the arrangements by the Imani Winds. The catalogue is highly original and good quality music. It is great to have a resource with such variety for some new programming options. One fantastic arrangement for ww quintet is Astor Piazzolla — Milonga Sin Palabras.

I Highly recommend them. My experiences with their catalogue has been nothing but good.

Thanks, guys; I really appreciate your encouragement toward my "bashful" pocketbook. I have 1183 clarinet pieces in my library, but need a couple hundred more --maybe even some that I can play!
