There is this jump from clarion E to clarion C (high c) and this a supposted to be a slow piece with expression and when I play that part the C either doesn't come out or when it does come out it sticks out likes a sore thumb. Do you have any tips that could help me with this problem?

If you move the clarinet closer to your body, then the C should not "pop" as. You may also need to make internal adjustments; I mean your tongue position, and possibly your mouth position.

Assuming, correctly I hope, you're describing going from fourth space E up to second line high C.
Have you tried blowing 'normally', or maybe a little more (louder) than you normally do for the E, then reducing air flow (blowing softer, perhaps even drastically softer, almost a whisper) as you lift your fingers for high C ?
You may surprise yourself and sound just like the pros - instantly.

It is also possible you have a slight leak somewhere. Check the pad that is closed by the ring for the thumb, the throat A and G# keys, etc.

Support, support, support. It's possible to support a lot and not make the not really loud. Just keep your diaphragm support constant, but back off on the force of the air. This isn't said very well, but basically just support it, and it should be easier to play softer.

This is all about embouchure; going from the e to the c make sure your mouth is forward (like the corners of the mouth) and make sure it is firm around the mouthpiece. If the c doesn't speak, then you're backing too much off your air. If the c jumps out, keep your same air but support the mouthpiece with your embouchure more.
