Can anyone tell me about William Nuerneberger clarinets. I have one that is obviuosly very vintage. Distinct. A band of metal above and below the octave key on the top joint. Seems like a collector to me but I don't know.
What can you tell me?

A quick google search found this. Although I'm not positive this is the same maker.

"A band of metal above and below the octave key on the top joint"

Sounds like the top joint split and it was repaierd by flush banding. Not an ideal method - not only is it conspicuous but it can cause the bore to narrow where the bands are fitted.

The opinions I express are my own.
