Repertoire Request

I'd appreciate any suggestions for music written for this combination of instruments: organ, string quartet, and clarinet.

I did a Google search but didn't come up with anything.

I didn't see any there that are clarinet, string quartet, and organ. However, there are quite a few clarinet, string quartet, and piano. Maybe these could be adapted? There are also a couple clarinet and organ pieces (listed under Clarinet and Keyboard), but they don't have strings. Good luck.

Thanks Andy. I had looked at Luyben and already have several of the selections for organ & clarinet.

We are rededicating the organ in our church after an extensive overhaul and a hired string quartet will be part of the dedication concert. Our organist asked if I was aware of any pieces for organ, quartet, and clarinet. I'm starting to think it may be a futile hunt or I'll find something that will make 3/4 of the congregation run from the hall with their ears bleeding.

Not that that's such a bad thing.

Sounds like intonation hell to me, and balance hell too unless the organist is very restrained. Like PDQ Bach's concerto for bagpipe and lute, this may be a combination that is rare for good reasons.

Are you intending to perform this in a church? Make sure you can all fit in the organ loft, or you may have fun with finding yourself way out of time with the organist.

On a more positive note, have you tried searching for music intended for harmonium rather than organ? Just guessing, but that might be more fruitful.
