 Bay Equalizer II - opinions?

I play a Bay Equalizer II mp with Van Doren v12 #3 strength reeds. I have a Buffet R-13. I really like this setup. I get a dark sound, but I don't sacrifice flexibility with articulation. I have several private students using this setup who are doing very well. Any opinions?
