Does anyone have any experience with Smartscore, or any other software, that allows the scanning of music, with conversion into midi or some other computer playable format.

I just wanted a feel for it's accuracy, ease of use, does it read in hand-writeen scores.

The newest version I've found to be about 90-95% accurate on reading notes/key signatures, etc. The accuracy depends highly on the 'cleanliness" of the score: a well-designed and printed score does well, handwritten most of the time has more errors. If I have trouble reading it, SmartScore will have trouble, too (I use the new version of PianoScan, but the algorithm is the same).

The older version was 80-85% accurate on a good and simple score, significantly less if it contained complex chords.
