Hi all:
Happy Fourth of July...!
The New York Pops is again being featured on TV in the MACY'S Fourth of July Fireworks on NYC's East River. We can be seen live on NBC at 9PM EST for one hour. They'll be lots of woodwind stuff, and I'm featured in a little "Dixieland" band version of CHICAGO.
Tune in to check out the fantastic fireworks display, and catch a little of the fine playing by the New York Pops...!

Hi John,
I'll certainly watch it at 9pm. It is on Tues the 4th, and not the night previous?
Last year we channel switched, finding the best music -- suprisinginly -- locally in Knoxville. Last year's DC concert was more than disappointing. (Huge collection of former rock stars to whom time has not been gracious. They have lost their stage presence, their voices and their musicality. It was painful to watch.) Later we caught the end of a concert with a phenomenal soprano from the theater (name escapes) where Lincoln was shot.
I'll be listening for the Chicago.

Yes, vjoet, it is on Tues the 4th of July. Check your local time, it's on TV at 9PM here in NYC.
Liza Minelli does a great job of her famous "New York, New York," and the Band really swings...Enjoy!

Thanx, Mark, Don

Hi Don:
"Do we have your permission to take it off on old-fashioned VCR tape ??"
I believe there will be lots of people doing exactly what you've asked to do.
We have no control over VCR tapes, DVDs, or the TIVO thing. Do what you must.
I hope it goes well and that all of you watching will enjoy the fireworks and music. The evening will be dedicated to the memory of our founder and conductor, Skitch Henderson, who passed away in 2005.

I agree with Clayton, didn't care for the commercials, tho, but got most on tape. Too few "shots" of the musicians, tho, and Liza M really "belted it out" on NY. All in all, great, we went out laterand saw a pretty good FW show, rite cheer in River City, [NE Okla]. Regards, Don
Thanx, Mark, Don
