Yamaha YCL-450 vs Buffet E-11

I do know that there have been other Yamaha vs Buffet threads in this forum, but I would like to ask this question: would a Yamaha YCL-450 ($1089 silver-plated. $959 nickel-plated) be a much better deal than a Buffet E-11 for $699? AND...rumor has it that the E-11 has suffered consistency problems. Is this true?

I'll quote the prices from a well-known UK retailer:

E-11: list £830, actual £565
YCL450-S: list £769, actual £599.

Don't try to convert these to dollars; instruments are generally more expensive here. The point I'm making is that these prices suggest that the two instruments should be very roughly the same price.

Are you sure you weren't quoted for a YCL-650; then your price differential makes more sense?
