 Dating of Selmer basset horn

I have come across an opportunity to purchase a Selmer basset horn with serial number D23xx, and would like to know roughly when is was manufactured.
Could someone please help?
I have not been able to find any date references to the D-series in any of the Selmer serial number charts on the Internet.

I think the D series were from around 1987-1988.
