Have to be careful with this one, have read the rules Mark and GBK and think I'm on reasonably solid ground here.
I'm looking for advice on selling instruments, do any of our UK boarders have sources that they have had success with in the past?
They're not the kind of instruments where ebay would be appropriate, in the past I have always sold through the CASS magazine classifieds but no bites this time. If worse comes to worst, it'll have to be a comission sale through a retailer, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

I assume you've already thought of Free Ads, Friday Ads or Loot - but word of mouth also gets around - I've bought and sold this way, also let other players you know try things out, they often know someone that's in the market for whatever it is you have for sale, or they might even take it off your hands for the asking price.
I barely had enough time to get acquainted with a B&H 1010 I bought off eBay last year - I let a fellow pit player try it out when I did 'Guys and Dolls' last November and she made her mind up that it was the one for her from the first few notes she played.

At a time when almost every musician in every musical forum has one eye on Ebay, I'd love to know which instruments are considered inappropriate.

Alto clarinets, Steve...alto clarinets...
I've heard tell that there's a special online service where one goes to list one's alto clarinet or viola...
